It cannot have any glass or store baought kits. We are going to test it with two ice cubes. One in our water heater and the other in a bag on the ground. We have 15 minutes and then we will measure how much water melted from each ice cube. The one in our solar heater has to melt more than the other one. HELP!

I am having a get together this weekend. The temp is going to drop into the mid 60’s. I hate to deal with the plastic solar covers (and I don’t think they work all that well). I would consider a black tube solar heating system but don’t know how effective they are. Are there any chemicals that will do it? What about the solar fish that leaks os Isopropyl Alcohol? I don’t want to spend a ton…as I hope to get a heater next season

I was going to use a 120 gal tank, but the LP gas man told me that I would burn that up on the initial heat-up and would then need to be refill.

Does that sound right? That seems like it would be using a lot of gas. Can anyone tell me how much gas I might use in a season or how much gas I would use in a month?
I will be using a solar cover and I am only looing for an increase of 5 to 6 degress increase in water tempeture.
